The media men and women have finally been given the value they deserve by the head of the Transitional Committee – Aboubakar Alim Konate as he promised to better the conditions of journalists pushing the ‘beautiful game’ in the country forward in his press conference on Thursday.
Post the meeting of the Technical Transitional Committee at the FECAFOOT bureau in Yaounde, Alim Konate pleaded guilty of the manner in which journalists have been treated, before apologising and promising a better second round of the Cameroon Leagues for the media.
“The fans are gradually finding their way to the stadia for league games, and it is because of the work online platforms, Televisions and Radio stations are doing,” Konate emphasized.
After that statement, Aboubakar Konate promised to put in more financially as well as looking into the situation of transportation of journalists when going to far way pitches.
The attendances of the Cameroon Leagues are on the rise and some record pulling crowds have been recorded this season; UMS against Bamboutos in Limbe and the Northwest regional derby pitting YOSA against PWD of Bamenda to name a few.
