The management of Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL side, Abia Angels FC of Aba, have engaged the Club’s players into a skills acquisition training program, www.kick442.com can report.
According to a release by the Club’s Media Officer, Chinedu Otutubuike,the move is part of the plans to engage the players positively after the shut down of the NWFL due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The skills acquisition program which was supervised by the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs had in attendance the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Ukachi Amala, Club Chairman Mr. Rowland Gbaruko, players and other officials.
The players are being taught the act of hairdressing, fashion designing, and interior decorations.
Addressing the players, the Club’s Chairman Mr. Rowland Gbaruko urged the players to take the skills acquisition training serious, stating that it will be useful to them. He also thanked the state government under the leadership of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the Ministry of Women Affairs for the support to the team while the Abia State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Ukachi Amala encouraged the players to be good on and off the pitch and also use the skills learned in future.
Speaking on behalf of the players, Ayo Samuel thanked the State government and Club management for the support through the skills acquisition training which will be an added advantage for the players in the future.
The skills acquisition training is part of the plans of the Club to help build a future for the players.
