Lokomotiv Zagreb forward Abdoulaye Yahaya has touched down on Cameroon soil in the afternoon of Friday, January 29 on invitation from coach Christophe Ousmanou for preparations for the upcoming Under-20 African cup of nations.
The 18-year-old sensational winger replaced Steve Mvoue of Toulouse FC this week after Mvoue’s Club denied him the chance of turning up for the Lions camp given he has just returned from a long spell on the treatment table.
Yahaya joins Enzo Tchato, Etienne Eto’o, Kekoh Felix, Joseph Antagana Mvondo amongst the players invited from abroad to complement the Cameroon team that won the UNNIFAC tournament late last year.
Yahaya will join the rest of the team training with Christophe Ousmanou and colleagues from Saturday at the CAF Excellence center in Mbankomo-Cameroon.
The Cameroon team to participate in the upcoming AFCON were drawn in group A against host Mauritania, Uganda and Mozambique earlier this week.
On Monday February 1, Cameroon fly to Morocco to conclude preparations for the tournament which begins on February 14 to run for two weeks across different towns in Mauritania.
Yahaya who previously camped with the intermediate Lions of Cameroon is expected to play a lead role in the Junior Lions team of called upon by the lead trainer.
