The junior Lionesses of Cameroon replied with 3 goals from one down to oust Morocco 3-1, deep into extra time. The victory set’s up a date between the U20 Lionesses and arsh rivals Nigeria in the finals of the All African Games women’s football category.
The scoreline of the action packed game does not tell the real story neither does it flatter Cameroon.
The Junior Lionesses felt the pinch of going behind in a football game when Bouftini scored for Morocco at the 63 minute. From then on, Takounda equalised to take the game to extra time before Aboudi and Kameni sealed the deal to escape Morocco scare.
Just like what most football writers had speculated, two members of group B (Cameroon and Nigeria) would meet again for the second time in the tournament to determine who bags home gold.
The first game between Cameroon and Nigeria in this tournament ended on a parity base. Cameroon took the lead on that occasion before Nigeria equalised.
This time there is no where to hide, as Cameroon and Nigeria must play together until one knocks the other out cold for gold on the 29 of August.
