Former Super Falcons Captain, Desire Oparanozie has spoken of the situations surrounding her not being part of the Nigeria Super Falcons team.
Oparanozie while speaking with Diegwu Nkwankwor in an Instagram chat stated that she is open to returning to the national team only if some things changes.
Asked if she will be willing to come back to the team, she said “I am a patriotic Nigerian but when that time comes there are things I have to consider.”
”If it aligns with what I believe in then maybe there is a chance. But really a lot of things have to change seriously.”
There were reports of a rift between the player and former falcons coach Christopher Danjuma after the striker was dropped from the team during the Olympic qualifiers.
There were insinuations that her outer may not been unconnected to the player’s demand that the male and female team players should get equal pay.
Though the the coach denied any rift, the star striker has not been part of the team since then.
Oparanozie said however that she was not disappointed about what happened but was pleased that she stood for what was right.
The former Guingamp striker also stated that, her best moment was playing at the world and it was an honour being the captain of the team at women world cup.
