Indomitable Lions’ midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa opened his LaLiga goal scoring account for Villarreal in their 2-1 away loss to Valencia in match-day 15 of the Spanish LaLiga.
The 24-year-old native of Yaoundé equalized for Villarreal at the 54th minute with a fine individual effort.
Valencia opened the scoring at the 49th minute through Rodrigo Moreno.
Villarreal failed to build on Zambo’s equalizer as Valencia took the lead at the 79th minute through the in-form Ferran Torres.
The home side held on to the lead till the final whistle from referee Cesar Soto Grado.
Zambo Anguissa has now scored a goal in 14 league appearances and is yet to provide an assist.
Villarreal are currently 13th on the log with 18 points in 15 games, while Valencia occupies the 7th position with 23 points.
The Yellow Submarines will host Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in match-day 16 on Friday December 6, 2019.
