Former Chelsea forward and ex-Ivorian international, Solomon Kalou has joined Djibouti champions AS Arta Solar 7 on a one season deal, per multiple sources.
The club millionaire president Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss secured the services of the 2012 UEFA Champions league winner on Monday bringing an end to a year of speculations related to the club and Kalou.
Kalou, 36 last play for Brazilian club Botafogo during the 2020-2021 season has joined a number of stars on the books of the back-to-back champions who are keen on making their mark in African football.
The one time Hertha Berlin for will team up with former Arsenal and Cameroon international Alexandre Song, Ex-Cameroon and Espayol goalkeeper Carlos Idriss Kameni, Ex-Cameroon and Galatasary defender Dany Nounkeu and Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho who once played for West Ham United FC.
Solar 7 won the Djibouti top-flight last season largely thanks to the investment of their Ivorian owner. Next season, they will be competing in the domestic front plus the CAF Champions League in which their journey will start from the preliminary rounds.
