Power works Department (PWD) failed to return to win for the second game running after dropping two points against UMS of Loum.
The Boys of coach David Pagou had their feet on the gas creating multiple chances but failed to convert in the first 9 minutes of play of the encounter which was staged at the Buea Molyko Stadium. With touchline steam from Pagou, the Abakwa boys opened the scoring in the 10th minute of play via Mohamed Aboubakar who benefited from a lackluster defending from UMS and pushed through a powerful header to the ball in the net.
Ten minutes later Mohamed again was on target to make it two goals for the day again, benefiting from an absolute Howler from their rivals defensive compartment.
Both teams went into the break with PWD still having a very comfortable lead. Upon resumption, Experienced Joseph Momasso pulled one back for the Moungo based team as his side kept the pressure for the most part of the second segment. Momasso again was on the score sheet in the 89th minute after benefiting from a sweet cross to drive home a sweet volley using his favorite left foot.
According to head coach David Pagou: “My players are still so young and we have a lot of work to do going forward.”
“We have regrets about today’s score but we believe we can only get better as a team.”
“Our next game is crucial, we have to reignite the winning spirit which seem to be far fetched”
PWD’s next game comes up against Renaissance over the week end, and president Pascal Abunde has promised to motivate the lads who he says haven’t had a chat with him for a while.
