Two of four African countries participating in the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar have continued their hundred perfect good run in the global men’s Arab football tournament.
Both countries have both recorded wins in their opening two games of the competition including wins in their second group games this Saturday December 4, 2021.
Defending champions, Morocco cruised through Jordan 4 nil to ease closer to the quarter finals of the competition.
The Atlas Lions competing mainly with local players in the Moroccan top tier championship, demolished Jordan with striking performances from keeper Anas Zniti and Co at the Ahmad Ben Ali Stadium.
One of the brightest shining stars in Morocco’s title winning run in the 2020 African Nations Championship in Cameroon, Yahyah Jabrane came out voted Man of the Match after brilliant displays including an early goal in a game that also saw CHAN 2020 MVP Soufiane Rahimi, Captain Badr Benoun and FAR Rabat defender Mohammed Chibi making the score sheet.
The 4 nil win put Morocco atop of Group B with 6 points harvested in two games and are mathematically qualified for the next round with a game to spare.
Defending Africa Cup of Nations champions, Algeria overpowered Lebanon 2 nil in their second Group D game in the competition held at the Ali Janoub Stadium.
Al Ryann attacker and subsequent Man of the Match winner of the game, Yacine Brahimi launched the scoring for the Desert Foxes at the 69th minute before the North Africans increased the full time tally to 2 nil with a 93rd minute strike via Meziani Tayeb of Etoile Sahel.
The win takes the Foxes top of Pool D with 6 points and also look destined to booking an early ticket to the next round.
Four African countries, all from North Africa are participating in the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup among them, Tunisia and Sudan.
The Atlas Lions of Morocco who emerged champions of the last edition in 2012, will be looking forward to retaining the title of the competition organized this year for the very first, time by world football governing body, FIFA.
