Out of the 13 nations taking part in the African Cup of Nations for Amputees dubbed CANAF 2021, on-going in Tanzania, four nations have secured a spot to the semi finals of competition with just two to play the finals.

Tanzania, Liberia, Angola and Ghana constitute the list of semi-finalists. They all grabbed the tickets after playing the knockouts Wednesday December 1,2021.

Tanzania

Amongst the four semi-finalists, host country Tanzania grabbed a the first spot slapping Cameroon to the face 5#0 in the knockout stage this Wednesday December 1, 2021. Tanzania put up a good fight against the special lions defending their title as host nation and seeking for a qualification ticket to the World Cup.

Tanzania during the group Stage, was drawn in group A along side Morocco, Sierra Leone and Uganda. They topped group A with six points in two wins and a defeat against Uganda 1#0.

Liberia

Cameroon’s group C contender is one of those to battle for a finals ticket. Liberia had a good run in group C beating both Cameroon and Gambia to top Group C with six points. During the knockout stage, they overpowered Morocco 2#1 to join Tanzania in the finals.

Angola

This is one of the very big names in Amputee Football both in Africa and the World at-large. Angola will be featuring in the Semis after forcefully knocking out Egypt on post match penalties. It ended 1#1 at regular playtime but on post match penalties Angola went through 3#2. They beat Zanzibar in first outing 12#0 and later Kenya 3#0. They currently have the highest goals to their credit in the competition 16 goals.

Angola is defending champions for the AFCON for Amputees and current holders of the World Cup.

Ghana

Ghana went through to the Semi Finals of CANAF 2021 after white washing Kenya 4#0. They beat Egypt 3#0 and Nigeria 4#0 to lead group D. Ghana is one of the few participating nation yet to conceive a goal.

Angola may face host nation Tanzania while Liberia takes on Ghana in the semi finals.
