Legendary Cameroon Elite One midfielder Joel Etogue has joined ambitious South Region amateur Championship side FC Ebolowa, kick442.com can report.
The 30-year-old former Tiko United and Kumba Lakers midfielder has agreed a one-year deal and joins Ashu Tambe Clevis at the club.
Kick442.com has exclusively gathered that the player has completed formalities and signed up for the upcoming season awaiting license production and medicals.
The South Regional championship winners who participated at the 2021 national Interpools but failed to secure promotion to the Elite Two Championship are building a team to push for promotion in the upcoming season.
Joel who spent six years at UMS of Loum before switching to YOSA last season has also played for defunct National Polytechnic of Bambui.
Etogue is arguably FC Ebolowa’s biggest catch this window giving his leadership skills on and off the pitch. He adds to experienced forward Ashu Tambe Clevis who is the skipper of the club.
Etogue, captain of UMS in at least four of his seven seasons at the Club Etogue fondly called Zaza in Loum will forever be remembered as one of the greatest player that the Club and is expected to have an instant impact in Ebolowa.
Joel featured in over who only made four appearances at YOSA played 250 games in all competitions for UMS, scored five goals from the holding midfielder role.
The midfielder won three trophies and finished runners-up thrice in two competitions during his time at the Club before departing to YOSA.
He has joined the rest of the FC Ebolowa squad for routine activities and played a friendly game this Wednesday.
