Players and staff of Cameroon Elite One championship outfit Cotonsport of Garoua have left the country in wee hours of this Friday, April 2 en route to Lusaka Zambia where they will take on local side NASPA Stars FC in match-day three of the 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup.
Lambert Ngueme Areina and the rest of the 18-man squad selected by coach Souleymanou Aboubakar left the Nsimalen International Airport in Yaoundé-Cameroon at midnight of Friday via a special flight that transits in Nairobi – Kenya before heading to Lusaka.
Cotonsport is expected to arrive Zambia by 8:30 on Friday and take to their base in the city of Lusaka.
They will have two training sessions in their second coming to Zambia within three months, before facing bottom-placed NASPA Stars at the National Heroes Stadium on Sunday April 4th in a telling fixture.
A second win for Cotonsport in a spin will put them in an interesting situation in the group with six points from three games while NASPA with just a point so far needs a victory to stay in the contest for a Quarter-final berth.
The other group fixture will pit holders RS Berkane of Morocco against JS Kabylie of Algeria with the winner to take a massive step towards progress.
