Elite One: Ade Mienolf breaks YOSA’s pointless run

Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda have picked up their first three points of the season beating Les Astres of Douala in a day four game.

Played at the Yong Francis Arena, YOSA proved they were ready for their first win and three points Sunday March 28, 2021.

A lone goal scored by Ade Mienolf through a cross which put goalkeeper Cedric in difficulties, leading to a goal in the 24th minute.

First Half

NTANGANE Jean Honoré, center referee for the day sounded his whistle for kick off.

Offensive football was the play style during the early minutes of the game. A good unterpositional play in the sixth minute was launched by Bahazah Goah of YOSA then to Ade Mienolf who sent a long one upfront trying to locate Emmanuel Agbor but it went out of the field of play.

YOSA mounted much pressure on coach Mbarga Foe’s boys creating more scoring chances. The host had a scoring opportunity for YOSA minutes later, but a good header from Emmanuel Agbor was chopped off after the second referee indicated it was an off side.

A 19th minutes first corner won by Louise Dada, taken by captain Ngong Neville, heads went high but the finish was poor.

Yellow card to Enjenwei Api of Les Astres for an infringement against Fabrice Ndeh Nsoh.

Yellow card award to goalkeeper Djomo Cedric for time wastage.

Both sides left for the half-time break on a virgin tie

Second Half:

Upon return for the second segment the Academicians put in a cross through Bahazah Goah into the danger of Les Astres but poor finishing was their undoing.

Coach Nkabyo Martin substituted Ngeh Beligine for Jean Claude Laimo to increase goal scoring chances.

Ade Mienolf through a cross in the right side of the pitch gave YOSA the lead within 24 minutes of the second half.

Several substitutions done by both coaches, the final score stayed same.
