Approximately three seconds goal from Eso-E FC’s Akin Morakinyo characterised the opening game of the 2021 Remo Division One Football League Super 8 which kicked off at Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State on Tuesday.
With the first kick of the game between Eso-E FC and Sagamu United, Akin Morakinyo scored a goal from the passing line to give Eso-E FC the lead in the third second of the Sagamu Derby.
Abdullahi Fatai had the opportunity to equalise for Sagamu United from the penalty spot but he missed the spot-kick in the 14th minute.
Adeniyi Ridwan eventually equalised for Sagamu United in the 23rd minute as the first game of the Super 8 ended in a 1-1 draw.
The second game between Ultimate FA and Olodi Warriors also produced its gamut of drama as Olodi Warriors of Ikenne had to come from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw with Ultimate FA of Ilisan.
Ultimate FA raced to a two-goal lead thanks to Shodiya Moses and Matthew David Anuoluwa’s fourth and 18th-minute goals respectively.
Osuolale Olakunle’s beautiful long-range strike in the 39th minute started the comeback for Olodi Warriors.
Willie Kanmonke finally converted Olodi Warriors’ equalising goal in the 48th minute to ensure that the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Super 8 will continue on Wednesday with two games holding at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo.
Easy FC will face Remo Academy by 2:00 pm while The Cock and Remo Stars U-15 square up by 4:00 pm.
