Defending Champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria have been drawn to play West African rival, Back Queens of Ghana in the first round of the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) Qualifiers.
This was confirmed after the draw for the Qualifiers was concluded on Monday, May 10, 2021, by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This means one of Nigeria and Ghana will not take part in the next AWCON in Morocco.
Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on their part will square up with Central Africa Republic (C.A.R) in the first round.
Other WAFU B pairings will see Burkina Faso square up with Benin Republic while Niger Republic was drawn to play Cote d’Ivoire.

2018 beaten finalist, Banyana Banyana of South Africa will play Mozambique.
The first leg and return legs of the first round ties will take place from June 7-15, 2021.
The second round will take place from 18 to 29 October 2021.
Morocco will host the 2022 edition of the competition after the 2020 edition was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
