The coordinator of Soccer Queens Cup, Moses Bako Nagogo says he was not surprised that Imo Strikers were able to gain promotion to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship after the conclusion of third-tier NWFL Nationwide League this week.
“I am not surprised that Imo Strikers got the promotion to NWFL Championship because when they were invited to Lokoja and won the maiden Soccer Queens Cup, from the beginning to the end of the tournament, they performed well.
“After the tournament, I had to talk to the owner of the club about the quality of the team to play in the NWFL Nationwide while stating the importance of playing in the Nigeria Women Football League. I advised the owner to come to the Nationwide League as I also advised so many other clubs to follow suit.” He told www.kick442.com.

Imo Strikers finished top of Group B1 winning all group games against Unification FC (1-2), Brave Hearts (9-0), and Ubakala Queens (1-0) before defeating Delta Babes (3-0) to gain promotion to the second tier NWFL Championship.
Moses Bako Nagogo added: “I was happy that Imo Strikers played well during the NWFL Nationwide, conceding just a goal throughout the tournament showing how good the side was. I wished they were able to play with Lakeside Queens which will be the best of the best in the league.
Lakeside Queens also did very well as well as Imo Strikers. It would have been a tug of war.
“Imo Strikers are blessed with young girls. They are about the youngest side alongside Unification FC in the tournament.” He concluded.
Imo Strikers gained promotion to the NWFL Championship alongside Lakeside Queens, Delta Babes, and Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens.
