Eight teams have qualified for the quarter-final of the 2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Laliga U-15 Promises after the conclusion of the group stage on Friday at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Remo Stars finished top of Group C with six points despite its 1-4 defeat to Gombe United.
Abdullahi Bello, Miko Dalha, Abubakar Sadiq, and Bello Musa scored for Gombe United while Umar Nasiru pulled a goal back for Remo Stars.
Gombe United and Remo Stars thus qualified for the quarter-final from Group C while Kwara United crashed out despite a 3-0 walkover win over Abia Warriors.
In Group D, Sunshine Stars pipped Wikki Tourist 1-2 to also make it to the quarter-final.
Precious Olaniyi and Hussani Daniel scored two goals within three first-half minutes for Sunshine Stars as Abubakar Khalid reduced the deficit for Wikki Tourists in the 45th minute.
Wikki Tourist and Sunshine Stars are through to the quarter-final while Rangers International crashed out from Group D.
In all, Kano Pillars, MFM FC, Shooting Stars, Katsina United, Remo Stars, Gombe United, Sunshine Stars, and Wikki Tourist are all through to the quarter-final which will kick off on Monday, May 2, 2022.
