The Rwandan U-17 women’s team has withdrawn from India 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
Confederation of African Football (CAF) has received correspondence from Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) indicating their withdrawal from the African Qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, India 2022.
Rwanda was scheduled to face the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the first Qualifying round later this month (January 2022).
The doubleheader is therefore canceled, and DR Congo is automatically qualified for the next round.
DR Congo will now face Nigeria (Flamingos) in the First Round with the first leg slated to take place on the weekend of March 3-5, 2022 in DR Congo.
The return leg on the weekend of March 17-19, 2022, will likely take place in Lagos, Nigeria.
Three teams should qualify from the Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India as the CAF representatives.
