Cameroon have dropped one position in the latest FIFA world rankings, in the month of June 2022.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are now the 31st best team in the World according to the latest FIFA ranking on Thursday, June 23.
It should be noted that Cameroon was on the 36th position the past few months but has now dropped a position down, giving space for Hungary to seat in one place ahead of them.
Cameroon who sits in as one of Africa’s representatives in the 2022 Qatar World Cup,
had their ranking in the last position strongly impacted by the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualification play-off round. This is same for the other African teams represented in the World Cup.
The boys of Coach Rigobert Song’s picked a Qatar 2022 ticket at the expense of Algeria. They are now ranked 37th in the world but are 6th place in Africa.
In the meantime, Egypt has dropped eight played down, from the 32nd to 40th position in this month’s FIFA rankings. Their 0-2 loss to Ethiopia in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier influenced their drop.
African champions Senegal are at the 18th position, Morocco sit 22nd, Tunisia at the 30th place while Nigeria just like Cameroon, drops a place down to the 31st position.
Senegal, Tunisia, and Nigeria are the highest-ranked countries from Africa on the global table.
Behind Senegal are Morocco, the second-best team in Africa, while Tunisia are the third-best team in Africa.While Nigeria is ahead of Cameroon, Egypt, Mali and Ivory Coast in the sixth, seventh and eighth positions respectively.
Worthy of note is the fact that, Brazil beat all others to go top of the world rankings, trailed by Belgium, Argentina, France, England, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Denmark, making the top ten in that order.
