The 2022 edition of TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League will be hosted in Morocco.
This was confirmed on Sunday by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) during its Executive Committee Executive Media Briefing.
Morocco is currently hosting the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and kicked off the tournament with a 1-0 win over Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Egypt hosted the inaugural TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021 where Mamelodi Sundowns FC Ladies emerged as Champions.
Goals from Chuene Precious Morifi and Andisiwe Mgcoyi ensured that the South African Champions emerged as winners of the maiden edition with a 2-0 win over Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana.
Eight (8) teams will participate in this year’s edition and the participating teams will emerge from Zonal Qualifiers including a team from host country, Moroco.
