Ahead of the 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has fixed a date for the draw of the tournament.
The draw for the 2022 Beach Soccer AFCON will take place on September 15, 2022, in Mozambique.
The eight (8) qualified teams will be grouped into two (2) groups of four (4) teams with the top two (2) making it to the semi-final.
Mozambique, Senegal, Madagascar, Uganda, Malawi, Nigeria, Morocco, and Egypt have qualified for the tournament.
Mozambique will host the 2022 Beach Soccer AFCON from October 21 to 28.
The tournament will serve as the Qualifiers for the Beach Soccer World Cup.
Senegal won the last edition last year in Saly defeating Mozambique.
The team has won three successive Beach Soccer AFCONs (2016, 2018, and 2021).
Mozambique qualified as hosts and finalists of the 2021 edition.
Nigeria are bronze medalists in 2015, and finalists in 2018 and 2021. Missed the 2021 edition.
Uganda are semi-finalists in 2021.
Madagascar won the Beach Soccer AFCON in 2015
Malawi is making its first appearance in Beach Soccer AFCON.
Egypt were bronze medalist in 2016 and 2018.
Morocco qualified for their fifth successive Beach Soccer AFCON, and are bronze medalists in 2021.
