The first day of the 2022 National under-17 tournament for students of the ten pools of the Cameroon National Football Academy (ANAFOOT) kicked off on Wednesday, August 10 with pomp and splendor at the CAF Excellence in Mbankomo -Cameroon.
The second edition of the football festival which groups kids of the ten regional pool in an effort to assess their level of competitiveness and provide a platform for the players to develop even more.
In the presence of the General manager of ANAFOOT, Mr Enow Ngachu among other dignitories, players from the various region showcased how much work is being done.
In the opening game that started at 7:30AM, ANAFOOT Southwest and Center put up a great show but the latter snatched a late winner through under-17 international Richard Njengue Kombi who scored a brace to earn a 2-1 result.
Midfielder Oumar Sanda -architect of the victory was voted man of the match for his great performance but many wouldn’t argued if Precious Nwakeke who scored the lone goal for the Southwest went home with the prize.

In the second game of the day, the Northwest Pool picked up a hard earned 1-0 win against their counterparts from the Littoral Region. The lone goal of the game was scored by Febe Fritz who also bagged the man of the match award for his great input.

Later in the day Adamawa edged the West Region Pool by 1-0, courtesy a goal from the spot through Faha Franck Virgile.

This game could have gone either way but Adamawa was made to regret their missed opportunities including a penalty.
In their first outing of the day, Far North held the East region to a goalless draw.
Midfielder Aminou Djibrilla went home with the man of the Match Award for his showing in the North Pool’s midfield.

In their Second game of the day, the Center and West Pool of ANAFOOT changed their starters and fetched a goalless draw to take their points tally to four in two games.
Yemdi Nelson of the West was voted player of the match.

Meanwhile in their second game of the day, the Northwest made light work of the East – defeating them by 4-0, courtesy a hat trick from Ndewiy Elton and a goal from Nda Terry Junior.

Man of the match:
The Far North defeated South 3-0 in the final game of the day. A brace from Arafat Moussa who eventually won the man of the match award and a goal from Bachirou Youssoufa was enough to earn a first win for the Far North and take their points tally to four.

Newly appointed national Under-17 National team staff, Fiala Fiala, Nicolas Anouldji were present and noted a number of things.
Former Indomitable Lions Jules Denis Onana and Ebwelle Bertin – also coach of the Under-15 Lions were spotted at the CAF Excellence Center all day.
Matchday action kick off at 7AM this Thursday at the CAF Excellence Center.
