It was a busy weekend for multiple Under-17 Lions of Cameroon players and to an extent their staff as they engaged in different competitions for their respective Clubs.
Messobo Ambassa – APEJES Academy
The 15-year old keeper kept a clean sheet in a youth championship game as his side won 1-0.
Moutsio Ulrich helped Brasserie Under-18 to a 3-2 victory away to FC Sanaga in a match-day six fixture of the Littoral Regional championship played in Edea.
The 16-year old goalkeeper who attended all of coach Anicet Mbarga Foe’s camps in preparation for the Total U-17 AFCON 2021 saved a last minute penalty to keep the score at 3-2.
Mezui Effoudou- Indomable
16-year old Mezui Effoudou of L’Indomable scored one of the goals as his side cruised to a three-nil victory against ANAFOOT in the third place playoffs game of an invitational tournament played at the Impot center in Yaoundé-Cameroon.
Moursou Eric Jean-Cotonsport
The teenager was in the Cotonites squad that coach Souleymanou Aboubakar took to Zambia to beat NASPA Stars FC by one goal to nil in a match-day three fixture of the 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup.
It was the third time Moursou got into the squad for the competition and he debuted in the competition January against AS SONIDEP of Niger.
The versatile defender was a part of two camps in the build-up to the 2021 Under-17 AFCON.
Mezui Effoudou – Indomable
The full-back was arguably the player of the weekend as he scored twice in his side’s 4-0 win against Frank Academy.
Zabo Bello-AS Dauphin
The full-back who attended not less than three camps with the Under-17 Lions of Cameroon played the entire game as his said kept a clean sheet against Pouma FC away from home. Winger and international colleague Nongoh Samuel also lasted the duration of the encounter.
Thomb Simon Pierre- ANAFOOT lasted the duration in their two-nil defeat against JS Troies in the semi-finals of the Under-17 tournament at the Impot center. Thomb was the team captain.
The center-back lasted the duration in EFBC’s nail-biting win against FC Sanaga.
Noh Nafeng Yvan – ANAFOOT
ANAFOOT midfielders Noh Nafeng Yvan lasted the duration in his side’s 2-0 defeat to JS Troies. Richard Ndjenge Kombi and forward Diop Khadim also featured for ANAFOOT.
The 16-year old sensational winger is currently in Douala havin been drafted into the Cotonsport of Garoua youth team squad in Douala for this year’s Easter cup tournament same like Soppo Jemea Likanjo and Tetteh Evans of Best Stars Academy of Limbe.
Under-17 Lions’ forward 16-year old Pierre Nkamga who scored twice in the first camp with coach Anicet Mbarga Foe’s boys scored one of the goals in this game for EFBC.
Diop Khadim and Richard Kombi
Both forwards led up front for the unfortunate ANAFOOT side that lost in the semi-finals of the Under-17 invitational tournament at the Impot center.
To an extent, it was a great weekend for the team’s staff as head coach Anicet Mbarga won in the top-flight championship with his Club Astres of Douala for the first time this season and goalkeeper Trainer Saidou Hamadjoda won their CAF Confederation cup group game away to NASPA Stars FC and fitness coach Nseme Alain Roger’s Unisport picked a point at home to Foncha Street FC .
