U-17 AFCON: Teams, opponents known
Ahead of the U-17 African Cup of Nations penciled for March 13-31, 2021 in Morocco, countries and opponents for the group stage have been known.
The draws were conducted Wednesday February 24, 2021, in Nouakchott-Mauritania. Twelve teams have been grouped into three groups of four, constituting Groups A, B & C.
Cameroons U-17 Lions of coach Anicet Mbarga have been drawn in a group of dangerous contenders involving Senegal, Mali and South Africa in Group C.
Cameroon is coming in as defending champions and two times winners of the tournament, meanwhile the Malians are previous winners.
Host for 2021 Morocco are in group A alongside Zambia, Uganda and Ivory Coast while two times winners Nigeria face Tanzania, Algeria and Congo in group B.
The competition runs from March 13 to 31, 2021 across three cities in Morocco. Eight teams will qualify for the knockout stage.

The Lions open their competition on March 15 against Senegal before confronting South Africa three days later and will end against Mali on March 21.
The best two teams in each group and the best two teams from the other teams in the groups qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.
From the above group stage draws, who gets to the knock-out stage, semi-finals and finals? This will only be answered on March 31, 2021 when the competition will be crowned.
