Best Stars Academy, BSA of Limbe concluded the 2021 Season with a lot of positives despite failing to book an elite ticket.
For must spectators at the Bamendzi staduim in Bafoussam, It was a delight watching the young, talented and ambitious lads of the celebrated Limbe-based Football Academy.
The boys of Coach Djoufack Saturnin, were appearing at the National Inter-pools for the very first time but showed the world the qualities they are made off.
A 1#1 draw game with Riziere FC of Tonga and a disappointing 0#0 draw against Rangers FC means that BSA exited the competition and Championship unbeaten although it was not enough to secure the SWR region a return to the elite 2.
Inspite the frustrating end of their invincible season there are a lot of positives for the lads to build on as most people have predicted better days ahead.
The inconsolable state of the players in their last game of the season was telling of a group of ambitious talents who aimed to touch the sky but must learn to face such moments which makes part the success story.
From the crucial and decisive saves of 17-year old Cameroon Under-17 goalkeeper Teteh Evans Apah to the dribbling skills of his Under 17 team mate, Ulrich Likandjo Soppo Jemea who scored 7 league goals as well as Ferdinand Nyuyki, the lone scorer for BSA at the National Playoffs amongst others, the lads were simply full of raw talents.
Outstanding goalkeeper Evans kept 9 clean sheets in 12 league matches, conceding just three goals. One for the future.
It was the third participation for BSA, at the just ended National Interpools after previous participation in 2014 and 2015 but this one looked most promising.
BSA finished runners-up to Rangers FC of Bafut who gained promotion as league leaders, the best run for a Southwest regional representative at the competition of recent.
Created in 2007, the Academy has a track record of nurturing top quality professional footballers with Indomitable Lions and Olympiakos Midfielder, Pierre Kunde Malong, being the most decorated graduate of BSA.
BSA it should be recalled against all odds punctured the hopes of the likes of book makers favourites, Options Sports Academy and Limbe Football Club Association, on their way to the National Interpools, as the lads conquered the region unexpectedly.
Football experts have advised the ambitious players put the past behind them and work had for more better days ahead just like the motto of the club which says “The Best is yet to Come”
