2021 NWFL Premiership Week Three Wrap: Bayelsa Queens maintain perfect start

Bayelsa Queens are the only Club with a 100% record in the 2021 NWFL Premiership season after their 1-0 win over FC Robo Queens on Thursday.

Bayelsa Queens 1-0 FC Robo Queens
It’s now three out of three for 2017/2018 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Champions, Bayelsa Queens after a 1-0 win against Lagos based FC Robo Queens.
2018 NWFL top goal scorer who returned to Bayelsa Queens from BIIK Kazygurt, Charity Reuben scored the winning goal for the Restoration Girls in the 53rd minute.

The result ensured that FC Robo Queens drop their first point with the defeat after two wins in their first two games, while Bayelsa Queens have won all their opening three league games.

Osun Babes 3-0 Pelican Stars
Osun Babes were the biggest winners of Week Three after a 3-0 win against Pelican Stars.

Nigeria U-17 international, Yemisi Samuel scored two goals for the Omoluabi Queens in the 69th and 85th minutes respectively. Kafayat Bashiru scored a late penalty in the 93rd minute to hand the Osogbo based side their second win of the season after last week’s 3-1 defeat to FC Robo Queens.

 

Confluence Queens 1-0 Nasarawa Amazons
Confluence Queens got their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 win over Nasarawa Amazons.
Winifred Eyebhoria scored a 45th-minute penalty to help the New Direction Ladies to their first win after one point from their first two games.

Nasarawa Amazons are yet to get a point in the league after three consecutive defeats.

 

Abia Angels 2-1 DreamStars FC Ladies
Abia Angels returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win against DreamStar FC after their defeat to Royal Queens last week.

Maxi Bisong scored the opening goal for Abia Angels in the 45th minute.
New acquisition, Ayatsea Hembafen equalised for the visitors in the 79th minute.
Five minutes later, Nmesoma Ibeh scored the winning goal for Abia Angels.

The Galacticas (DreamStar FC) is yet to get a point in the league this season alongside Nasarawa Amazons with this defeat.

 

Ibom Angels 2-1 Royal Queens
Ibom Angels defeated Royal Queens 2-1 for their first win of the campaign.

Mercy Itimi scored the opening goal for the Orange Ladies in the 27th minute.
Chika Idika equalised for the Canadian Geese in the 39th minute while Blessing Nkor converted the winning goal for Ibom Angels in the 78th minute.
