19-year-old goalkeeping sensation Michael Mosoke Molua on the books of CINYODEV FA Buea stood between LIFCA and a qualification ticket for round three of the 2021 cup of Cameroon playoffs in the Southwest Region.
Thursday, March 11 will go down as the day of goalkeeping heroics to many who came to the historic Tiko Town Green Stadium as the former Buea United FC net minder Mosoke who skippered CINYODEV FA put up a masterclass display.
In all, Michael Mosoke Molua made seven saves as his side recorded a 2-1 win against a star-studded LIFCA side that were left to regret their inability to beat the keeper more than once on the day.
Kwedi Elombo, Christian Tchawa and Akoti Mukete all tested the skills of the goalkeeper across 90 minutes but failed to beat a simply outstanding Micheal Mosoke Molua.
Speaking post-match, captain Mosoke qualified the game as a special event.
“To us games against LIFCA are very special. We treat them as finals, that’s is the reason for this extra motivation whenever. The lads did well today, we won as a team,” Mosoke stated.
LIFCA got off to a worse possible start to the encounter, conceding a 4th minute penalty after goalkeeper Thibout Ngande was adjudged to have fouled in the box. Emerant Junior converted from two attempts to give Cinyodev FA a deserved lead.
Though the Limbe council Boys found their way back into the game with a 79th minute goal from Beboang Ne Kalba, Graham Bong Ajebe Metuk won it at the death with sumptuous lob that left the neutrals in wild celebration.
Captain Michael Mosoke Molua saluted his mates efforts in achieving the results but was unhappy about a particular aspect about the game.
“I believe this is the reward of the efforts today. We had a good preparations and that is justified by the result. I am only disappointed about conceding a goal against my plans for today’s game,” Mosoke revealed.
The defeat means for the third year running at the historic Tiko Town Green Stadium, LIFCA have been knocked out of the cup of Cameroon by the same opponent, CINYODEV FA of Buea.
CINYODEV FA will be in Friday’s round three draw alongside the likes of Best Stars Academy, EEMSA of Tiko, Options Sports Academy of Limbe, Mount Cameroon of Buea et Al who all won in round two of the preliminaries.
