The head coach of the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde, José Rui Lopes Aguas is satisfied with his sides zero all draw with the indomitable lions of Cameroon, in Yaoundé on Wednesday evening.
Aguas and his boys started their 2021 AFCON qualifiers with a tricky away game against five time African champions, but the Cape Verdeans stayed solid throughout the game.

Speaking to the press after the game, coach José Aguas expressed satisfaction on his sides performance.
” I’m glad because we did a very good job. it was a very difficult game, very physical, against one of the best teams in Africa”.
He added “we prepared this game carefully. All the guys were amazing and I think we deserve this result”.
Aguas however insist his team came to Cameroon to win, but had a fair result. ” We prepared our team to try to win, knowing that it was going to be difficult, but we got some chances to score, maybe Cameroon had more chances and more ball possession but at the end of the day I think it was a fair result.
Sitting side by side with coach José Aguas, was the Blue sharks captain, Ryan Mendes, who says they worked hard to get a point from Yaoundé.
“We worked as a team, we fought together to get the point. We wanted all the three points, but we are happy with the draw”.
Cape Verde will next host Mozambique, while Cameroon travels to Kigali, to take on Rwanda.
