The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has rejected a request from the Sudan Football Association to change the kick-off time of their game against South Africa from evening to the afternoon citing lighting problems at the Al Hilal Stadium.
With both teams still in contention for the a place in Cameroon 2022 set to clash today by 6pm, CAF has insisted that the match will be played at the initially scheduled 6pm Sudanese Time.
Sudan boosted their hope for qualification after defeating Sao Tome and Principles 2-0 on Wednesday placing them third on the log with 9 points, one behind Ghana and South Africa who are on 10 points.
The 1-1 draw between South Africa and Ghana on Thursday sent the Ghanian through despite having the same point with South Africa because of the better head-to-head record against both South Africa and Sudan.
A draw between in South Africa and Sudan will definitely send South Africa to Cameroon why Sudan need an outright win to pick a ticket.
With the request now rejected by CAF, the game is expected to go as scheduled at Al Hilal Stadium by 6pm Sudanese local time today.

Sudan v South Africa – 6pm
Ghana v Sao Tome and Principe – 6pm.
