Super Falcons forward, Monday Gift scored two goals for FC Robo Queens as the Lagos Land-Ladies recorded a 2-1 win over defending Champions, Rivers Angels in the Matchday ten of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership on Wednesday.
She scored two goals in the 57th and 62nd minutes respectively to give FC Robo Queens a two-goal lead before Oghenebrume Ikehua pulled a goal back for Rivers Angels in the 85th minutes.
The result moved FC Robo Queens to the third position in Group B with 16 points from nine games, two points ahead of Delta Queens which played a 2-2 draw with Bayelsa Queens.
Etim Edidiong and Cameroon’s Touta Evanick scored for Bayelsa Queens while Mercy Omokwo and Sarah Nnodim converted for Delta Queens as both sides settled for a 2-2 draw.
Bayelsa Queens seats in the second position in Group B with 15 points behind Rivers Angels with 19 points.
Edo Queens in Group A maintained its unbeaten run in the league after defeating Naija Ratels FC 0-3 in Abuja.
Two goals from Yemisi Samuel and a goal by Chioma Olise ensured that Edo Queens remain top of Group A with 20 points ahead of Nasarawa Amazons with 18 points.
Goals from Josephine Mathias, Dooshima Tarnum, and Chimebere Opara helped Nasarawa Amazons to a 3-0 win over Pelican Stars.
Royal Queens defeated Abia Angels 3-0 with Eunice Godwin opening the scoring for the Warri-based side while Tosin Ogundeko scored two goals for the Canadian Geese.
The group A game between Confluence Queens and Osun Babes has been postponed till Thursday morning.
