Eding Sport de la Lekie forward Jang Sunday has been named 2020 Under-20 UNIFFAC tournament best player and top scorer following his exploits in the final game of the tournament this Tuesday.
The 18-year-old scored twice in his first start upfront for Cameroon earning the accolade in the five nations tournament that lasted a week.
It is the first international award for the speedy winger who displayed his class this Tuesday.
A player of Eding Sport de la Lekie since last season, Sunday is noted for his trickery on the ball, his speed got him pre-selected by coach Thomas Libiih for the Under-17 national selection of Cameroon but later dropped from the team.
Cameroon defeated Central Africa Republic by three goals to nil in this Tuesday’s final with a brace from Sunday Jang and a goal from Saidou Alioum.
Jang reserved the two goals that fetched him the award in the final and he will be at an advantageous position when coach Christophe Ousmanou constitutes his list of players for next year’s Under-20 AFCON tournament in Mauritania.
