Edo Queens FC defeated Naija Ratels FC on penalties to win the third-place match at the 2020 Flying Officers Cup on Sunday, www.kick442.com reports.
The second encounter between both sides in the competition was a keenly contested tie just like the group stage game which ended 1-0 in favour of Edo Queens.
Naija Ratels goalkeeper Omilana Faith acrobatically saved a header from Grace Henry after Lucky Odiri’s kick from the corner in the 10th minute.
In the 44th minute, Edo Queens breaks away from a counter. Osaghae had only Omilana Faith to beat but she played a weak shot at the goalie.
In the second half, Edo Queens Manager, Rollanson Odeh received a red card from the sideline after screaming at the fourth official. This prompted referee Augusta Madubuko to brandish a red card in his direction.
After 90 minutes, the game went straight to penalties where Edo Queens won the third-place match 4-3.
The winner smiled home with the sum of N200,000 after failing to defend their trophy.
