Nigeria U-17 Women’s football team, Flamingos commenced training on Monday, March, 9, 2020, ahead of their India 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers return leg against Guinea.
The team resumed preparations at the Legacy Pitch, Surulere in Lagos in build up to Saturday, March 13, 2020, second leg clash with Guinea at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Before the commencement of training, First Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi received the players and official of the team in Lagos following their return to the country from a 6-1 first leg triumph over Guinea in Conakry. Akinwunmi who doubles as the boss of Lagos State football Association (LSFA) admonished the Flamingos players to stay focused on excelling and avoid distractions, while reiterating the NFF support in the team’s qualification bid for 2020 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
A hatrick from Osun Babes, Yemisi Samuel and goals from Chinyere Kalu, Rofiat Imuran (brace) ensured that Famingos earned an emphatic 6-1 away win over Guinea in Conakry.
