With the rest of the matchday One matches for the new SW Regional Football Championship coming up this Sunday, December 20, the Principal Coach of Limbe Football Club Association, LIFCA, has told kick442.com that the is all set for the championship.
Augustine Tchoupo, who was recruited this year by LIFCA, will get to see how far his side have prepared when they face Njalla Quan Sports Academy (NQSA) this weekend. LIFCA will play NQSA at 3:30 pm at the Njalla Quan field.
In an earlier interview with kick442.com, Coach Augustine Tchoupo of LIFCA said everything has been put in place for the side in Limbe to have a good season. Even though the team started late, so far they have done one-month preparation and according to Coach Choupo, they are fifty per cent ready for the league.
“We have the ambition of reaching the Elite Two and going far into the Cameroon cup. We have the ambition to go further than the quarter-finals the region realized. (Victoria United of Limbe achieved this objective some three years),” Coach Tchoupo told kick442.com.
“Talking about NQSA I know the club well. I brought them from third division to second division and into mini interpool. It is one of my homes. I have watched ISOHSA and they are a good side. We have a lot of good teams in the region.”
Augustine Choupo who has coached several clubs in the Region has brought in some new faces to help the club in their objectives this year. Mukete (Fovu Club Baham), Tabi (Fovu Club Baham), Edia, from a second division outfit in Douala, Ngande, a goalkeeper (Victoria United), Louis Ngole (YOSA), Enow Billy (Tiko United), and a host of others.
Despite the introduction of new players into the squad, coach Tchoupo has kept his faith with a number of the old players who were with the club last football season. Beckley, Mbongo and Yankee, have all been maintained. “Yankee is a player capable of playing any team in the Elite 1 and play with clubs like Coton Sport. He is a complete player and I am pleased to have him in my team,” He said.
Coach Tchoupo added: “We have a lot of good players in the region. For my recruitment, I have done some 60 per cent from teams in the region. To have players playing in the region is a great advantage to coaches.”
It should be noted that LIFCA is placed in Pool C alongside ISOHSA, NQSA and FUSSA.
