Indomitable Lionnesses of Cameroon have suffered a second defeat in the ongoing Women’s World Cup in France. The Lionnesses suffered a 3-1 defeat to Netherlands on Saturday making it two defeats in two outings in the ongoing football festival.
Saturday 15th saw a tougher game that was highly dominated by the Netherlands though 0-0 till the 41 minute where Netherland took the lead. It was short lived as Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene benefited from Feudjio Raisa’s pass and leveled the score before the break.
Upon recess, the Lionesses could not stop the Netherlands as their second goal came so early in the second half.
At full time, it was unbelievable but true. The Indomitable lionesses had been defeated 3-1 and could eventually eliminated from the tournament if they don’t at least beat New Zealand.
They shall play their last match against New Zealand on Thursday 20th June 2019 and still have a slim hope of staying in the competition should they get the better of their opponent and do enough to be amonsgt the best third placed countries.
