D’Tigress of Nigeria blew away the Lionesses of Cameroon 101 to 39 to qualify to the quarter finals of the Afro basketball going on in Dakar, Senegal.

The defending champions were in a commanding display as they left no stone unturned to run over their opponent.

It was an all round performance by the players four players outscored last game’s woman of the match,Evelyn Akhator . Adaora Elonu, Promise Amukamara, Aisha Balarabe & Ify Ibekwe got 14pts each while Ezinne Kalu scored 12pts.

Prior to today’s game, in six matches against Cameroon since 2007, Nigeria’s DTigress have a superior Head-To-Head (4-2), with Cameroon winning the last two matches. The last time both teams met was in 2015 which Cameroon narrowly won 71-70.
It took DTigress more than minutes to make their first point, Cameroon trail 12 poimts to 0.

Ezinne, Victoria, Amina, Amukamara and others all combined for a dominant showing as they went into the break leading Cameroon by 26 points.

At the end of the third quarter, the Nigerian ladies led with a 39-point.
At the end, it was a subduing scoreline 106-39 as they moved to the quarter finals.
Dtigress have three more games to win to be champions of Africa again.
