The runners up of under 17 AFCON, Guinea U17 have been disqualified from the 2019 Under 17 FIFA World Cup following CAF Disciplinary Committee’s recommendation of their removal after accepting the Senegal’s protest against two of their players for age fraud.
The Guinea Football Federation have been notified.
The Senegalese team at the Under 17 African Cup of Nations, had protested that the Guinean team fielded over aged players (Aboubacar Conte & Tidiane Keita) at the tournament after they couldn’t make it out of group B of the tournament.
The Guinean team had won the case and had played at the semi finals against the Golden Eaglet but after consideration of the Senegalese case by CAF, the Guinean side will not play at the 2019 Under 17 World Cup holding in Brazil.
The Japanese Football Federation provided evidence to show that the players had double identity giving that this same players had earlier represented Guinea at a tournament in Japan.
Senegal will replace Guinea and use the fourth African spot at the tournament,the above mentioned footballers have been banned from football for two years,the Guinea FA has been given 21 days to return days to return the medals they got at the tournament amongst other financial and non financial sanctions.
