17 year old Cameroonian shot stopper Manfred Mekumba Ekoi has told kick442.com in a recent private conversation that he feels better in tournament condition and can do all to perform in such environments.
The main man behind Cameroon’s sound defensive records so far in the ongoing Under 17 AFCON championship in Tanzania,Ekoi Manfred ignored injury worries before the semi final game against Angola to play and make 5 decisive saves in 90 minutes, plus a penalty save in the game to help his nation reach the final of the tournament for the first time in 16 years.
The Best Stars Academy of Limbe student has been a man to watch for Cameroon in the tournament especially because of his wonderful saves in different games.His ability to quickly release the ball has created multiple counter attacking situation for his team in the tournament with his distribution ability and sense of reading the game being another plus to his team.
In total Ekoi Manfred has so far made 12 saves in 3 matches in the run to the final prompting Cameroon’s coach Thomas Libih to talk about his importance to the team after the win against Guinea and in the build up to the final this Sunday against Guinea.

Manfred kept a clean sheet against Guinea in Cameroon’s opening game of this same competition at the Azam complex at Chamazi.
Should Ekoi reproduce his form in the tournament so far against Guinea then he will be making a serious claim for a place in the team of the tournament.
