The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Girls U18 World Championship has ended for team Cameroon in a disappointing manner.

The U18 Volleyball lionesses who were in their first ever participation in the championship were eliminated from the championship after failing to win a single match in four different outings. They were drawn in Pool A of the championship alongside host nation, Egypt, China, Brazil and Puerto Rico.

In their first outing on September 5th, 2019, Cameroon was beaten 3 sets to 0 by China (25-14, 25-16 and 25-12).

In their second match against host nation, Egypt, the U18 Volleyball lionesses failed to impress as they lost 3 sets to 1 (14-25, 11-25, 30-28 and 11-25).

On September 7th during their third match, they lost to Brazil on a similar scoreline, 3 sets to 0 (25-14, 25-20 and 25-12)

In their last group match, they were beaten by Puerto Rico 3 sets to 2 (25-19, 26-24, 11-25, 21-25 and 9-15).

Losing all four group matches means that the U18 Volleyball lionesses were eliminated from the championship.

Prior to the tournament,
Cameroon coach, Rose Beleng A Ngon said, “This tournament is of very high level. We have a young team with little experience, but we are here ready for the competition and it will be a great experience for us to play against such opponents”.

After the disappointing performance, coach Rose Beleng A Ngon and her girls will return home and continue to improve on their performance.
