Preparations for the FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled to take place in place in Brazil have already started with Cameroon’s U-17 Lions already grouped together in Yaoundé though no official list has been made public.
Neither coach Libiih Thomas nor Fecafoot’s communication department have announced the list of players invited to prepare for the the tournament nor has an official program on how the team will prepare for the competition been made public though players have already been assembled in Yaoundé for the purpose.
Cameroon are the African champions in the U-17 category after they beat Guinea in the final after post match penalties in Tanzania early this year.
The 18th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will be hosted by Brazil between October 26 and November 17.
The biennial international men’s youth football competition will be played by 24 teams, with four of them coming from Africa.
Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola and Senegal will represent Africa,
Cameroon has been drawn in Group F with Spain, Argentina and Tajikistan.
They will play their opening match on October 28, 2019 at the Estadio Kleber Andrade in Cariacica against Tajikistan.
They will face Argentina on October 31, 2019, at the same venue for their second game before taking on Spain at the Estadio Bezerrão in Gama on November 3, 2019 for their final group game.
