Nigeria Women Basketball team, D’Tigress welder the storm of host Senegal to win a back to back FIBA Afrobasket Women Championship by 60-55 points hereby winning her fourth (4th) title in the process.

In a tight game worthy of genuine final, Nigeria took the first quarter by 14-10, won the second quarter 18-14, as well as the third quarter 16-13 before losing her first quarter of the competition in the fourth quarter by 12-18.

Nigeria’s top performer was Evelyn Akhator with +15 efficiency rate, 14 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and no blocks.

For Senegal, Marie Dy-Diop was the host top performer in the final with +12 efficiency rate, 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and no blocks.

It was not an easy win for Nigeria. The home fans in Senegal shouted as loud as they could, rousing their own players, but D’Tigress towered above their boos and left them subdued, making it back to back Afrobasket Women conquest.
