The 2019 Sport season in Cameroon has closed its chapter with Stade Renard walking away with a deserved victory after a fine display over AS FAP of Yaounde.
FAP’s loss come much to the surprise of many football lovers who earlier predicted a win for AS FAP.
These predictions were based on FAP’s performance in the elite two and the playoffs before the unforgettable 2-0 win over Cotonsport in the quarter finals of the Cameroon cup.
Many have blamed the loss on the head coach for AS FAP, Alain Djeumfa .
He was the head coach of the Indomitable lionesses when they got to the 16th finals of the Women World Cup in France with only one victory. In that competition, many opinions hold that they would have done better if they were under the command of Joseph Ndoko.
While Alain Djeumfa spent time preparing the Lionesses for France, AS FAP put up a spectacular performance under the guidance of Atangana Ngandi.
He qualified the team through to the final. On the final day, Atangana Ngandi was unfortunately not in command Alain Djeumfa took over.
His starting XI created many doubts of a win over Stade Renard. Key players who had been so instrumental in the passed matches for FAP like MAHAMAT, Hervé Eloundou and Guy Dinga were left on the bench.
FAP’s regular shot stopper Pierre Mpatoutou was conspicuously left out of the list by the coach, one of the reason why the club the a FAP side that conceded 3 goals enroute to the final ended up conceding more goals in the final than they did in 5 previous matches before the final.
