Consistency they say is one of the key aspects that makes a player great but achieving it is never easy as it demands alot of hardwork and sacrifice to go up and stay up.

The following players have been able to raise the bar and keep it up there for their respective league 1 clubs in the last two seasons.

1) Bawak Etta Thomas-Right and Left Back (New Stars & Cotonsport)

The little man with big heart has been arguably the best full back in the top flight Championship in Cameroon in the last two seasons.

His abilities on and off the pitch have earned him respect and remains one of the reason why many local pundits have questioned his absence in the senior team of Cameroon.

Versatile and performant either as right or left back for New Stars in the 2018 season and Cotonsport of Garoua in the 2019 season,Bawak has missed just 3 League in that time.

Name the best Right back in the league in the 2018 season, the then New Stars of Douala captain missed just two games out for 34 League matches before featuring in all but 1 League match this season for vice Champions, Cotonsport of Garoua.

Bawak has in that time provided 9 assists with most of them coming from his regular inch perfect crosses.

2 )Nkuissi  Thomas Legrand-Center Back. (Stade Renard)

The very physical and intelligent Center half has been one of the bright lights of the Melong based club in the last two seasons.

He doesn’t just defend well for his side,he also gets the goals for his team.

Last season, his last minute header against Astres of Douala in Melong was the turning point in his club’s battled for survival.

He has scored 4 league goals in the last two seasons in Cameroon making him the second best scoring defender behind Dooh Alain Moukoko of YOSA with 5 goals.

3 )Kamilou Daouda-Forward (Cotonsport)

4) Nicolas Abanda Koa- Midfielder (UMS)

A complete box to box midfieder with wonderful ability to pick passes from deep positions, Nicolas Abanda has been the man on the spotlight in the last two seasons in Cameroon.

This season his goal against Dragon set UMS on their way to winning the League 1 title with Abanda putting up an impressive display BN through the playoffs phase of the competition.

Last season Abanda was in the LFPC team of the season and this term he has been UMS’ most used player featuring in all but one game this campaign.

5) Bienvenu Djob Lidjoh- Center Back- (Colombe Dja)

The young defender has taken very little time to adapt to top flight football in Cameroon.

Barely in his second campaign at Colombe of Dja, Bienvenu has made himself a near perfect performer in all games in the last two seasons.

The young defender featured in all but one of Colombe’s 34 games last season and this season he improved becoming the only Colombe player to feature in all of the club’s games.

Currently the captain of the team, Bienvenu’s discipline has seen him picked-up up just 1 yellow card in 1440 minutes of Football.

The 5 players above just need to keep doing what they have been doing to be consistent for two seasons now.
