Bamboutos FC of Mbouda has been eliminated from the 32nd Cameroon cup, by center regional outfit Jeunesse Athletic Emergence of Obala 4#3 on post match penalties,in one of round 64 games played this Thursday at the FECAFOOT CENTER in Odza.

Bamboutos opened scores in the game through Nguimgo Njouaka Alain, but Jeunesse Athletic equalized late in the game through Kylliano Armel Fioko. Coach Anicet Mbarga Foe rested most first team players, giving the opportunity to fringe players.

After 90 minutes, it was 1#1 on either sides. The game was then pushed to post_match penalty shootout, and goalkeeper Talla Herman of Bamboutos, failed to stop any of Jeunesse Athletic’s penalty. Bamboutos’ lone goalscorer during normal play, Nguimgo Njouaka Alain also miss his penalty, while Jeunesse Athletic Emergence of Obala converted all their penalties. The Mangwa boys therefore bows out of the Cameroon cup, with their only hopes being finishing in the top three of the league two championship.

Coach Anicet Mbarga Foe describes Bamboutos’ cup exit as disappointing. He said “to be eliminated at this level is disappointing. Our opponent was not too strong. We didn’t find ourselves in the game, so it was very difficult”.

Bamboutos will on Sunday play Canon of Yaounde,in a decisive Playoff game in the league two championship.
