The female football team of The University of Bamenda have qualified for the quarter finals in the in the ongoing 22nd edition of the university games in Dschang. The girls of coach Afah Moses grabbed their quarter finals ticket after playing a zero all tie with the university of Yaounde II Soa.
After loosing to IUG in their first match, they beat The University of Buea in their second match 2#1 thanks to a brace from their center forward Cynthia, they needed a point while hoping that IUG fails to beat the university of Buea.
The girls are now waiting for the homologation committee to homologate results of the other groups so as to know their quarter finals opponents.
The quarter finals will be played this Wednesday at the Fotso Victor Institute in Banjourn.
In the other group game, The University of Buea defeated IUG one goal to nil. The results placed both teams at the 3rd and 4th position respectively with 3points each while the university of Yaounde II and Bamenda occupies the 1st and second position with seven and four points respectively.
It should be noted that, the best ever performance of UBa’s Female football was in 2017 when they hosted the games here in Bamenda.
