The female football team of The University of Bamenda have kept their quarter finals hopes alive in the ongoing 22nd edition of the university games in Dschang and beating The University of Buea female football team by 2 goals to 1 in their second group game. It took a second half goal from UBa’s striker Cynthia to give The University of Bamenda all three points. It was her second goal of the game after scoring in the first half.
After loosing to IUG in their opening group game 1-0 , the girls of coach Afah Moses needed nothing less than a victory against their fellow anglo saxon university counterpart, The University of Buea.
The girls are now looking forward to improve against defending champions, University of Yaounde II Soa in their last group game tomorrow in Banjourn to pick a quarter finals ticket while also hoping for a draw between The University of Buea and IUG when they also meet in their last group game.
In their first matches, The University of Bamenda lost to IUG 1-0 while The University of Buea lost to defending champions the university of Yaounde II Soa on the same scores.
After playing day two matches, the university of Yaounde II Soa tops the group with 6points, The University of Bamenda is second with 3 points, IUG is third with 3points while The University of Buea is at the bottom with 0 points.
