The University of Bamenda boys have  Tuesday 7th picked their qualification ticket to the quarter finals. This was after they played a hotly contested game against the University of Douala. The Douala boys who initially dominated the first half of the match, failed to score a goal due to the solid defense line of UBa. Upon recess, the UBa boys put up a more powerful team characterised by rebus man-to-man passes and long range shots on target that never yielded any goal though. At 90minutes, the score line situation was zero goal on either sides. This Virgin tie gives UBa and Douala 4 points each but UBa qualifies with a 1 goal difference. UBa stands at the second position as Ngoundere’s victory over SUP’PTIC sent them to the First position with 6points

At the end of the match, coach Anumewa Frankline and team captain Enowngene for UBa re-echoed their determination to win a gold medal in that category. UBa’s opponent is not yet known but it will either be the boys of Saint Jerome institute or the atomic bombers of the University of Yaounde 1 who are performing impressively in group C.

On their part, the University of Buea was butted out of the bulevard after draw against the University of Yaounde 2. UB was placed in group B made up of 3 members only; UB, Yde II and IUC. after UB’s loss to IUC on Saturday 4, they were left with no option than to defeat the University of Yaounde 2 should they dream of staying in the game. Barely 3 minutes into the match, the University of Buea’s defense made a regrettable error that they would pay dearly for. This gave way to a 1 nil lead for the Yaounde boys making the equation more difficult to balance. At the second half, UB continued pressure and the hunt for a victory. At the 72 min, team captain Fabrice for UB, directed a banana curve to the box of their opponent that was clinically finished by Mbatu Junior. This equalizer gave UB some aspirations that ended in a complete failure as it ended 1#1. This sent UB of the competition with 1point, 2 goals.
