It was a busy Thursday evening for some previous, current and potential Lions defending the interest of their clubs in the second round of the 2019/2020 UEFA Europa League Qualifiers.
Ndip Tambe Robert was undoubtably the man of the night.

Cameroon forward Robert Ndip Tambe scored the lone goal of the second round UEFA Europa League Qualifiers game in the 24th minute and played the entire game. He was booked at the 59th minute. Sheriff are now in a good position to qualify for the next round after that precious away win.It is Tambe’s second goal in 3 European games this season.

Cameroonian defender Macky Bangnack played the entire game for the visitors and even saw yellow at the 65th minute. His Slovenian team will now try to make the most of their two precious away goals when they host their Turkish opponents for the return leg.

Gent did not need their most expensive signing of all times, Cameroonian defender Michael Ngadeu Ngadjui whom they signed from Slavia Prague this summer, to see off FC Viitorul Constanta as the Belgians won by an emphatic 6-3 score.
Ngadeu was given a breather since he is just returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

French Ligue Cup winners Strasbourg defeated Maccabi Haifa at home to take a giant stride towards the next round of fixtures in the competition. The Israeli side side were a man down at the 44th when Ayad Habashi was sent off. Cameroon’s 2017 AFCON winner Ernest Mabouka Massoussi played the entire game for the visitors in his natural right back position.

The introduction of Cameroon’s 30 year old forward Arnaud Thiery Ngueukam at the 74th minute for Mame Thiaw failed to have the expected results as Legia Warsaw held on to their 9th minute goal. Nicolas Nkoulou and Torino made light work of Hungarian giants Debrecen. The Cameroon defender as usual commanded Walter Mazzari’s back three for Torino who did not give the Debrecen frontline any space.
They go into the return leg fixture with a comfortable advantage.
