Cameroon’s international keeper, Fabrice Ondoua has announced the creation of his football academy, “Academie Fabrice Ondoua ( AFO) in Cameroon. The decision was made on Tuesday ,during a press conference at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde.

The academy based in Yaounde, with training programmed for the Complex of CAMWATER will be run by a team of highly qualified technical staff.

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winner believes setting up the academy will help groom young aspiring Cameroonian footballers to equal the rising challenges of international football across the world and guide them towards professionalism to become future national pride.

The shot-stopper said he was inspired from his stay at FC Barcelona when he was at the formation center. He added, he believes he had a duty towards his Amar Mata.

“I wanted to express my gratitude to this school that contributed to who I am today” Ondoua told press men in Yaounde.

The ” Academie Fabrice Ondoa (AFO) is built on the foundation of AS Valence Club with mission to guide the first professional path of future fottballers.
The decision to revive the club to an academy stems from the decision of the KV Oostende keeper not to come up with a new academy.

The first general manager of the academy Stephen Anicet Koung disclosed the Fabrice Ondoa academy would have been launched earlier but decided this was the right moment.

Fabrice Ondoa joins a plethora of indomitable lions like; Jean II Makoun, Samuel Eto’o ,Idriss Carlos Kameni and most recently Henri Bedimo to have established football Academy in Cameroon.
