Cameroon’s defensive brick-wall Michael Ngadeu Ngadjui played 90 minutes in KAA Gent’s first outing in this year’s Europa League campaign.
Ngadeu and teammates leapfrogged their French opponents St Etienne 3-2 at the Ghelamco Arena.
The visitors posed some threats of their own when Khazri equalised with one of his trade mark goal’s after Jonathan David had gifted Gent the lead. Jonathan David then, completed his brace at the 43rd minute before Loic Perrin’s own goal secured all 3 points. A late goal for St Etienne only proved to be a mere consolation as the game ended 3-2.
Michael Ngadeu as usual had a good day in office with some vital interceptions, unfortunately – the two goals scored against KAA Gent popped from some general defensive errors; the 28-year-old would have fancied a clean sheet at the back.
